Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus is the first game in the Sly Cooper series. It was developed by Sucker Punch and released for the PlayStation 2 on September 24, 2002.[1]

Development

Sucker Punch began development on Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus in 1998. The score was composed by Ashif Hakik.

Engine

The engine for Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus is called P2. It is based on PE (Physics Engine) which was developed for Sucker Punch's first game, Rocket: Robot on Wheels. The naming convention would continue with Sly 2: Band of Thieves and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, with the engine for those games being P3 and P4, respectively.
